New Car Specials

On April 12, in advance of the New York Auto Show, Subaru of America, Inc. unveiled the Subaru Ascent SUV Concept, the first new 3-row SUV made by Subaru since the outgoing Tribeca.   The Ascent design concept and the production Ascent will feature an all-new turbocharged direct injection boxer engine.

The exterior design of the concept follows Subaru's "Dynamic x Solid" theme with powerful fender flares representing Subaru's all-wheel drive system and a large, bluff grille denoting a true SUV look. The interior of the concept features a flowing dashboard design and a 7-passenger configuration with center captain's chairs.  The model will be built at Subaru of Indiana, Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana and will be sold exclusively in the North American market starting in 2018.

Subaru donates $60,000 to Camp Rising Sun thanks to Share the Love

On April 4, Premier Subaru presented a check for $60,092 to Camp Rising Sun, a camp that provides a carefree summer camp experience for kids who have faced a cancer diagnosis.  Premier Subaru's $60,092 contribution to Camp Rising Sun was given as part of the company's annual Share the Love Event.

Premier Subaru Owner and President Bob Alvine presented the check directly to Camp Rising Sun Director Shaun Heffernan.  "This donation will send over 40 kids to camp this summer," Heffernan said. "You will not believe how many smiles and tears of joy this will create."

This is the third year that Premier Subaru has selected Camp Rising Sun as their "hometown charity" of choice during the "Share the Love" Campaign.  During the campaign, which take place last holiday season, customers purchasing or leasing new Subaru could make a $250 donation to one of four national charities or the fifth local "hometown charity."  Premier Subaru had previously donated $33,000 in 2015 and $50,000 in 2016.

Premier Subaru also hosted Camp Rising Sun's 2016 Annual Night Out, the camp's largest fundraising event of the year, held in Branford.

Kia Cadenza earns top safety pick+ award

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized Kia's second-largest sedan as one of the safest vehicles on the road.  The 2017 Kia Cadenza just earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award, which is only given to vehicles that perform reasonably well in a number of different tests. This includes your average crash tests, as well as examinations of its headlights and forward crash mitigation or avoidance.  Even on the IIHS' most difficult trial, the small-overlap front crash test, the Cadenza walked (drove?) away with a score of "Good."  It received the same score in other crash tests, as well as in tests assessing roof strength and head restraints. This applies to all models of Cadenza.

The Cadenza Technology and Limited trims also have autonomous emergency braking, which can bring the vehicle to a stop if it detects an imminent collision and the driver has not made a move for the brakes. This technology helps these cars get a "Superior" Rating for

This was the first time the Cadenza was assessed in the new small-overlap front crash test. The previous Cadenza was run through the grinder before the new test took effect. So now, it can take its spot in the Top Safety Pick+ crowd with more than 20 other new cars.

Why Kia Sportage is a great choice, even for dogs

Kia just released a brand new video showcasing the Smart Power Liftgate on the 2017 Sportage.  This Liftgate is available on the EX trim and standard on the SX trim.  It enables you to have the liftgate open without pressing any buttons or making any motions - simply walk towards the trunk and the vehicle will sense the remote and open automatically.  No other car in its class has a Smart Power Liftgate with this level of ease of use, in a segment that includes Toyota RAV-4 and Nissan Rogue

Customer's Corner

Testimonials from Happy Customers!  For more, check out our DealerRater pages for Subaru or Kia.

I bought my first ever brand-new car from Premier Subaru today, and could not have been happier with the experience. Luke was beyond helpful with his professional insight to ensure I was making the right choice with the Crosstrek. He helped me understand how financing a car would work, and what my monthly payments would be like. Having never financed a car before, Luke was truly an asset to my desicion making process. I was 100% confident I was making a great choice when I left last Wednesday, and after driving around aimlessly most of the today, just enjoying this new car, I am still just as confident! Luke was great to work with, and I will certainly recommend him to friends and family, as he was recommended to me!

The whole experience was easy from start to finish. Both Nathan and Frank were well-informed and well-prepared when I arrived both times. They seem to understand that I did not want to spend a lot of time on trivia, and got me thru the process quickly and painlessly.

Adorable Adoptable Animals

Every issue, we present the story of a pet at a local animal shelter near you, who is looking for his or her "forever home".
This is Bruno.  Bruno is an American Bulldog/Pitbull Mix and weighs about 70 pounds.  He gets along best with girl dogs, but has done well with all types of different people he has met at the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and is about 3-5 years old.
To find out more about how to adopt Bruno, or a pet like him, visit us at
