Premier Auto Group Cares - Our Community Involvement

Since our founding in 2000, the Premier Auto Group has had a commitment to the communities in which we serve.  Whether it is on local community based boards, or, through education, we are proud of our involvement in the community.  We provide financial support to organizations throughout the greater New Haven and Waterbury areas, as well as beyond.  Premier is also proud to have funded scholarships at both the University of New Haven and the University of Rhode Island for students from Connecticut that want to attend and have an economic need.

2017 Branford Festival and Road Race

On Saturday, June 17, Premier Subaru of Branford and Premier Kia participated in the 33rd annual Branford Festival.  Thank you to everyone who came out and said hello to us!

Premier Subaru Kia in Branford was an underwriting sponsor for the Branford Road Race that took place on Sunday, June 18.   This is the 3rd year that Premier was an underwriter for the event.  Over 3,000 runners participated in the headline 5-Mile Race, which is one of the few of its kind in the United States.  There was also a 2-Mile Health Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run.  Proceeds went to four charities this year: the Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson's(CAP), Camp Rising Sun, Notre Dame High School, and the Connecticut Chapter of the ALS Association.

Healthy Eyes Alliance's goal is to put an end to preventable and treatable blindness through early detection, free access to vision care (eye exams, glasses, surgery-if necessary) and public education. It operates in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, with this donation being targeted to Connecticut. PREMIER SUBARU DONATES $50,000 TO CAMP RISING SUN THROUGH "SHARE THE LOVE"

Premier Subaru presented a check for $50,000 to Camp Rising Sun, representing the proceeds from the eighth annual "Share the Love" event.  Customers that purchased or leased a new Subaru were able to make a $250 donation to one of four national charities or a fifth local "hometown charity".  Premier Subaru had selected Camp Rising Sun to be their "Hometown Charity".

Camp Rising Sun, also hosted their 15th Annual Night out on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Owenego Inn and Beach Club in Branford.  The Annual Night out is the camp's largest fundraising event of the year.

Premier Subaru's donation to Camp Rising Sun was recently highlighted(July 11) on Connecticut Style.  Camp Director Shaun Heffernan recognized Premier Subaru as one of the Camp's major donors and was "shocked" at the $50,000 gift that Premier was able to provide, on top of last year's $33,000 gift.  The entire interview is available here: http://wtnh.com/2016/07/11/premier-subaru-donates-50000-to-camp-rising-sun-for-children-with-cancer/

PREMIER SUBARU PRESENTS A CHECK FOR $33,239 TO CAMP RISING SUN AS THE "HOMETOWN CHARITY" IN THE 2014 "SHARE THE LOVE" CAMPAIGN

Branford, CT, March 30, 2015 - Robert J. Alvine, President, Premier Subaru, presented Shaun Heffernan, Director, Camp Rising Sun, with a check for $33,239 this afternoon in the dealership's showroom in Branford. The donation represented the proceeds from the seventh annual "Share the Love" event, in which anyone that purchased or leased a new Subaru could make a $250 donation to one of four national charities - ASPCA, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation - or a fifth local charity for their customers to support. Premier Subaru selected Camp Rising Sun as their "hometown charity" for the 2014 campaign.

"Thanks to Bob Alvine and the entire Premier Subaru Team, we will be able to provide an awesome summer camp experience to even more kids with cancer," said Mr. Heffernan. "Being a small volunteer organization without a national sponsor, fundraising is always a challenge. Bob and his team's hard work will help put smiles on the faces of our campers this summer."

"I am honored to participate with such an organization. An organization that brings smiles to brave children and their families," remarked Mr. Alvine. "We are duly proud to have raised this money and deeply thank our customers and employees."

"Share the Love" ran from Nov. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015 and was expected to donate up to $15 million over the course of the campaign nationwide. In the last six years, Subaru of America has donated over $35 million to different charities. In 2013, Subaru of America gave dealers the option to add a local charity.

Camp Rising Sun was designed to provide a safe nurturing environment to children ages 5 through 17 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Camp Week takes place at Camp Jewell YMCA in Colebrook, CT. A number of "Senior Campers" have become "Leaders in Training" to help with the younger campers and plan activities. Camp Rising Sun has been around since 1983 and has grown to over 100 campers!

One former camper, Freddy Samoskevich, now one of the assistant directors, said, "The biggest part of Camp Rising Sun was the social aspect of it because when you're young, you're going through all kinds of things like hospitals and medication and it's really hard to make social connections, but (at camp) you can talk about catheters and chemotherapy and everyone would understand and was friends with you."

PREMIER SUBARU WATERTOWN PRESENTS A CHECK FOR $15,606 TO NEW OPPORTUNITIES AS THE "HOMETOWN CHARITY" IN THE 2014 "SHARE THE LOVE" CAMPAIGN

Watertown, CT, March 24, 2015 - President Robert J. Alvine, Premier Subaru Watertown, presented Lisa LaBonte, Director of Meals on Wheels for New Opportunities, Inc., with a check for $15,606 this afternoon in the dealership's showroom in Watertown. Premier Subaru Watertown selected New Opportunities, Inc. Meals on Wheels as their "hometown charity" for the 2014 campaign.

"We couldn't be happier with the support given to us by Premier Subaru Watertown. We were thrilled when Bob first contacted us about the possibility of participating. Our organization relies heavily on the generosity of those in our community. And a donation of this size will go a long way in helping those in need throughout the region," said Ms. LaBonte.

"New Opportunities is just the type of local organization that we love to partner with and provide support for during the Subaru "Share the Love" Campaign. Lisa and her people do such a great job providing a hand up to the community in need," commented Mr. Alvine. "I'd also be remiss if I didn't acknowledge all of the customers who bought or leased a new Subaru during the campaign, and designated New Opportunities Meals on Wheels as the charity of choice for their donation."

"Share the Love" ran from Nov. 20, 2014 to Jan. 2, 2015 and was expected to donate up to $15 million over the course of the campaign nationwide. In the last six years, Subaru of America has donated over $35 million to different charities.
